1. What multimedia elements are you familiar with producing and which would you like to learn?

I am most familiar with Text, Audio and Animation. I would like to learn more about graphics and video. Graphics can come from a number of sources and can include drawings, paintings, graphs and photographs. I would like to learn more on how to create my own graphics.

2. What future technologies will impact education?

According to our textbook, the following are a few technologies that will impact education in the future: 1. The network computer (NC), 2. Personal digital assistants (PDAs), 3. Digital Versatile Disc (DVD), 4. Digital video, 5. Internet2 and 6.Virtual Reality (VR). Advancements in wireless technologies will affect classroom connectivity. With increasing frequency and ease, classrooms will be connected to a local-area network (LAN) and a wide-area net (WAN) like WWW. A few more technologies that will impact education are Artificial Intelligence and Robots, computers for people with Disabilities.

Hi! I haven't posted in a while. I just celebrated my 35th birthday!! I'm going shopping this weekend to buy new fall clothes. I also want to buy these fabulous boots I found at Belks. I will also have to find some time to study for my two midterms! Boo!! Have a great weekend and I will try to post something soon. Take care.

Michaelmas Day

Michaelmas is a christian feast served in honor of the archangel Michael. The feast is observed on September 29th. The traditional fare is roast goose fattened on the stubble fields. It is said if you eat goose on Michaelmas day you will never lack money all year. Michael was the greatest of all the archangels and is honored for his defeat of Lucifer in the battle for the heavens in the Bible.

Michaelmas Day is still celebrated in the Waldorf school. It is associated with the beginning of autumn and the shortening of days. It is traditionally the last day of harvest. It used to be the celebration of the Winter Night Curfew, which began with the tolls of a church bell. The bell was rung every night except for Sundays until Shrove Tuesday, the last day before Lent.

Activites for Michaelmas Day:
Have a box of items that are a part of the Michaelmas Day celebration. Have the children categorize the items into two groups. The categories will be food and animals. Each child would have a turn to pick one item out of the box and place the item in one of the two boxes labeled food and animal. Items that would be in the box are a picture of a goose, blackberrys, ships, horses, bells, apples, cider, pie and waffles
